Linebach Funkhouser helped Calder Race Course win on their own turf.
Service Matters from start to finish. LFI was retained by Churchill Downs Incorporated to evaluate the chemicals used to maintain the Calder Race Course turf track located in Miami, Florida. The purpose of LFI’s services was to evaluate the types and quantities of pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers used on the facility’s turf track over a two-year period. LFI performed on-site evaluations of Calder’s chemical management practices, including storage, handling, application, recordkeeping, labeling, and security.
Working alongside University of Florida turf specialists, LFI researched chemical types, quantities, application rates, and costs typical for a turf track similar to Calder’s. LFI identified opportunities for Calder to significantly reduce the variety and application rate of chemicals used on the turf track.
This significantly reduced Calder’s annual turf maintenance costs and environmental liability for chemical storage and handling.
