If you ever find yourself in the Permian Basin of West Texas or southeastern New Mexico, LFI suggests you head to the Saxony Inn Steakhouse in Hobbs, NM. It’s a bit hard to find, located on the east side of town inside the Hobbs Family Inn. Go through the lobby towards the heavy wooden door, almost like going to a speakeasy. We suggest you make a reservation in advance if possible (there are only about 10 tables), LFI was lucky to get a table for one on a wednesday night. It has a nice quiet and cozy feel, plus you can see the chef at work behind the open flame grill in the corner. Go for the filet or sirloin, with all the accompaniments we considered it to be on par with any meal from a big city steakhouse. So if you want an awesome steak and great ambiance, put the Saxony Inn Steakhouse on your list.
